Over the past week, Gangkhar’s CEO, Federico Spagnoli, held a series of meetings across Qatar, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates with insurers, reinsurers, banks, fintechs, telecom operators, and digital platforms, reinforcing the company’s view that MENA is emerging as one of the most important growth regions for embedded protection.
Across the meetings, one theme surfaced consistently: the protection gap remains one of the largest opportunities in the region. As digital ecosystems continue to expand across financial services, mobility, commerce, and platform-based experiences, protection is becoming an increasingly important layer of the customer journey.
For Gangkhar, this confirms a broader market shift already underway. Embedded protection in MENA is no longer a future concept. It is becoming a practical priority for companies looking to strengthen customer experience, expand distribution models, and build more resilient digital ecosystems.
The visit also reinforced Gangkhar’s conviction that the next phase of growth in the region will be shaped not only by technology adoption, but by the ability to deploy and scale protection through AI-native infrastructure that supports multiple partners, products, and markets.
“MENA is one of the most dynamic regions we see globally for the future of embedded protection,” said Federico Spagnoli, CEO of Gangkhar. “What stood out throughout the week was not only the scale of the opportunity, but also the quality of the conversations taking place across the ecosystem. There is strong momentum, clear ambition, and a growing recognition that protection must become a more integrated part of digital experiences.”
Beyond the strategic opportunity, the trip also highlighted the importance of regional collaboration. For Gangkhar, lasting impact in MENA will be built not only through technology, but through strong partnerships and local relationships across the insurance and digital economy landscape.
Gangkhar thanks all the organizations and leaders who shared their time, perspectives, and vision during the visit, and looks forward to continuing to build, collaborate, and grow across the region.
