What is Sherpa+?
Sherpa+ is Gangkhar’s full-stack embedded protection infrastructure enabling partners to configure and launch protection products quickly, operate them at scale, and manage policy/claims flows.
What does Sherpa+ include?
Modular components across onboarding, pricing, underwriting, servicing, and claims—integrated through a single API and supported by AI optimization and analytics.
Is Sherpa+ only for digital platforms?
Sherpa+ is designed for digital platforms and also supports omnichannel strategies, including digital transformation of physical points of sale and agent enablement.
How fast can partners launch with Sherpa+?
Sherpa+ is designed to accelerate launches from months to “days” via no-code configuration and standardized infrastructure.
What does “configure protection on demand” mean?
Partners can select protection types, set parameters, and deploy products quickly rather than running long custom builds for each product and market.
What types of protection products can be embedded?
Examples explicitly mentioned include life, device, telemedicine, and additional niches like cyber, family protection, and pet insurance.
Does Sherpa+ support subscription-based insurance?
Yes. Gangkhar describes subscription-based insurance programs as part of its product category breadth.
Can Sherpa+ support multiple markets and regions?
Yes. Gangkhar’s model is designed to scale globally across regions including the US, LATAM, MENA, and APAC.
What does “one infrastructure” mean?
It means partners can use a single platform and integration layer to deploy and operate protection products across markets instead of rebuilding per country.
Does Gangkhar provide claims operations?
Gangkhar provides claims infrastructure (claims create/get/update/attach), and can also orchestrate TPA/claims partners when needed.
How can a client access his or her protection information?
Gangkhar provides a dedicated Customer Portal where end-users can view their policies, download policy certificates, file claims, declare beneficiaries, manage invoices, cancel insurance, and update their profile. The Customer Portal is a standalone application integrated via a server-side session redirect (not an iframe), using Client ID and Client Secret credentials. This means partners can seamlessly redirect customers to the portal from their own platform while maintaining a secure, authenticated experience.
Does Sherpa+ support product versioning and renewals?
Yes. Sherpa+ allows partners to create new product versions with a start date, automatically setting the end date of the previous version. When an active policy renews, it automatically applies the product version that is active on the renewal date. This means partners can update pricing, terms, and configuration without affecting actively running policies.
Does Sherpa+ support mid-term policy changes (endorsements)?
Yes. Sherpa+ includes a full endorsement workflow for mid-term policy changes. Administrators can modify policy parameters, coverages, and dates, then recalculate the quote and apply the endorsement. The system automatically creates a new policy version, calculates any premium adjustments, and determines whether the customer owes additional payment or is entitled to a refund.
